Frequently asked questions

Raisin is a free financial platform that gives you access to exclusive high-yield savings rates from a network of 100+ trusted banks and credit unions, allowing you manage all your savings in one place.

Once you create your free account, you can easily open and fund multiple CDs and high-yield savings accounts with as little as $1. Your Raisin dashboard lets you seamlessly move money between products as rates change, allowing you to skip the hassle of opening separate accounts and managing multiple passwords across various banks.

It’s a simple way to maximize your returns while keeping your funds protected.

No. Raisin is not a bank. We are a financial platform that connects you with federally insured banks and credit unions. When you open an account through Raisin, your deposits are placed directly with the financial institution and are not held by Raisin.

Because we are not a bank, we are able to work with many different financial institutions. This gives you access to a wider range of savings options that you might not find on your own.

When you join Raisin, you manage all your deposits through our single, secure platform. This means you do not register with partner institutions individually, and you are not a customer of those banks. Instead, your relationship remains with Raisin and the Custodial Bank that holds your funds.

Your deposits are always held at federally insured banks or credit unions — not by Raisin. That means your money is eligible for pass-through insurance from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) or the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), which covers up to $250,000 per institution, per depositor. For more information on pass-through deposit insurance, please click here.

Because Raisin works with over 100 banks and credit unions, you can spread your savings across multiple accounts — all through one secure Raisin login — to help keep more of your money protected.

Raisin is not a bank. When you open an account through Raisin, your deposits are held at a partner bank or credit union that is federally insured by the FDIC or NCUA.

Pass-through insurance means your deposits are eligible for up to $250,000 of coverage per institution, per depositor — even when your account is opened through a third-party platform like Raisin. You’re still considered the beneficial owner of the funds, just as if you had opened the account directly with the bank or credit union.

Certain conditions must be met for pass-through FDIC or NCUA deposit insurance coverage to apply.

Raisin does not charge platform or maintenance fees, and we never take a cut of the interest you earn. Instead, our partner banks and credit unions compensate us for the technology and support we provide to host their products. This allows you to access top rates while helping financial institutions connect with savers they may not have been able to reach before.

You can manage your funds anytime via your Raisin dashboard, with most transfers settling in 1-2 business days. Note: withdrawal rules vary by product — see individual product terms for details.

Withdrawing funds during the 90-day holding period will impact your payout. Your final welcome bonus is determined by the lowest balance you maintain continuously throughout the 90 days. If a withdrawal drops your balance into a lower tier, your payout will be reduced, and if your total balance dips below the $10,000 promotional minimum, you may be disqualified entirely.

Additional, if you have a CD that matures before day 90, you just need to keep those funds deposited on the platform through day 90 to maintain your total balance tier.

For transaction details and timelines, please click here.

Rate lock offers allow you to secure a promotional APY on select savings accounts for a specified term (e.g., 60, 90, 120 days). Once the promotional period ends, the rate shifts to a standard variable APY, but you retain full flexibility to withdraw your funds at any time. See product terms for specific details.

Rate Lock offers qualify for both the STACK welcome bonus and the optional boost, provided all other promotional requirements are met. Note: Withdrawing funds during your 90-day maintenance period may reduce your qualifying balance and impact your final bonus payout.

To earn your base welcome bonus, use promo code STACK when registering your new account between September 1 and October 31, 2026, deposit at least $10,000, and hold those funds continuously for 90 days. You have a full 14-day funding window starting from your first deposit to make multiple transfers and reach a higher bonus tier.

Satisfying these base requirements is mandatory to unlock and earn the optional bonus boost. You can add this boost during your 14-day window by spreading your funds on the platform across at least two distinct product categories by day 14. You must allocate at least $1,000 to your secondary product category. The eligible product categories are:

  • Category 1 (Savings): High-yield savings accounts, money market deposit accounts, and "rate-lock" savings accounts
  • Category 2 (CDs): High-yield CDs
  • Category 3 (Specialty CDs): No-penalty CDs and callable CDs

Your total cash bonus, including your base welcome bonus and any optional bonus boost, will be deposited directly into your Cash Account within 30 days after you successfully satisfy all qualification and holding terms.

¹New customers only. Earn a cash bonus (the "Welcome Bonus") when you deposit and maintain funds with partner banks on the Raisin platform. Customers will receive a Welcome Bonus of $40 for depositing between $10,000 and $24,999; $100 for depositing between $25,000 and $49,999; $200 for depositing between $50,000 and $99,999; $425 for depositing between $100,000 and $199,999; and $900 for depositing $200,000 or more. If the Qualifying Deposit balance declines at any time during the maintenance period below the minimum required for a bonus tier, the customer will be placed in the bonus tier corresponding to the lowest Qualifying Deposit balance maintained during that period.

Savings + CD Boost: Customers eligible for the Welcome Bonus may earn an additional bonus by opening a product in a second product category. To qualify, customers must deposit at least $1,000 into the secondary product category within 14 days of their initial deposit and maintain balances over $1,000 in both categories through 90 days from the initial deposit date.

For the purposes of this promotion, High-Yield Certificates of Deposit constitute one product category; No-Penalty CDs and Callable CDs constitute a second product category; and Savings Accounts (including Money Market Deposit Accounts, High-Yield Savings Accounts, and Rate Lock Savings Accounts) constitute a third product category. Savings + CD Boost eligibility is determined by your Welcome Bonus tier: customers depositing between $10,000–$24,999 receive an additional $10; $25,000–$49,999 receive an additional $25; $50,000–$99,999 receive an additional $50; $100,000–$199,999 receive an additional $75; and $200,000 or more receive an additional $100.

The Savings + CD Boost is optional and paid in addition to the Welcome Bonus. To qualify for the Welcome Bonus and Savings + CD Boost, your first deposit must be initiated between September 1, 2026, and October 31, 2026, by 11:59 PM ET, and the promo code STACK must be entered at the time of sign-up. Only funds deposited within 14 days of the initial deposit date and maintained with partner banks on the Raisin platform for 90 days of the initial deposit date will be eligible for the Welcome Bonus and Savings + CD Boost. Bonus cash will be credited directly to your Cash Account within 30 days of meeting all qualifying terms. This offer is available to new customers only, is non-transferable, and may not be combined with any other bonus offers. Raisin may modify or end this offer at any time and may withhold or revoke bonuses in cases of fraud, abuse, or violation of these terms or Raisin’s Terms of Service.
