Deposit Guarantee Scheme
Deposits - including accrued interest - are guaranteed up to an amount of EUR 100,000 per customer and bank by the Slovak Deposit Guarantee Fund. Within the European Union, the minimum requirements for the deposit guarantee system of individual member states have been harmonized by EU Directives 1994/19/EC, 2009/14/EC and 2014/49/EU. Please note that deposit coverage refers to the totality of deposits a customer has with a bank. This is relevant if a customer has not only deposited money with a bank through Raisin, but also holds other deposits with the bank.
Tax process and documentation
In principle, a withholding tax of 19% is levied on in interest in Slovakia, but this can be reduced to 0%. To reduce the withholding tax, a certificate of tax residence must be submitted no later than four weeks before the first interest payment date and for each additional calendar year thereafter.
