This rate applies only for the initial 3‑month period. Funds remain accessible to the depositor at any time throughout the offer period. There is no penalty or loss of interest for early withdrawals. Interest paid monthly. No tax is taken at source, interest earned must be declared to Revenue. Deposits are protected under the German Deposit Guarantee Scheme up to €100,000. The Raisin Starter Account is opened on your behalf by Raisin Bank through a German partner bank, more full details are available on page 2 of the Product Information Sheet.

Deposit Guarantee Scheme

Your savings, including any interest earned but not yet credited, are protected under the German statutory deposit guarantee scheme, covering up to €100,000 per depositor per bank. This protection applies to all individuals, regardless of where they live. If you have other assets with the same bank outside of Raisin Bank, please keep this in mind. The statutory guarantee is managed by the Entschädigungseinrichtung deutscher Banken GmbH (EdB) (https://edb-banken.de/). Additionally, the voluntary deposit guarantee fund of the German Banking Association provides a level of extra protection for (a portion of) deposits exceeding €100,000. You can check the current additional protection levels here: https://einlagensicherung.de/service/kreditinstitute/.

Tax process and documentation

German banks do not deduct tax on savings for Irish customers. This means your interest is paid in full (gross). For more details, please see the product information sheet. Important: Irish deposit interest tax (DIRT) is not deducted automatically. Any interest earned must be declared to Revenue in an annual tax return.

Raisin's role

With Raisin, one login gives you access to competitive savings accounts from banks across Europe, allowing your savings to work even harder. No fees, no paperwork: saving with Raisin is online and hassle-free.

All interest rates displayed are Annual Equivalent Rates (AER), unless otherwise explicitly indicated. The AER illustrates what the interest rate would be if interest was paid and compounded once a year. This allows individuals to compare more easily what return they can expect from their savings over time. Raisin Bank, trading as Raisin, is authorised/licensed or registered by BaFin (Bundesanstalt für Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht) in Germany and is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland for conduct of business rules.
