How to protect yourself online

The internet is part of everyday life, but it also comes with risks. From phishing emails to data and identity theft, online threats are becoming more common and more sophisticated. Understanding how to protect your personal information and stay safe online is essential. This guide covers simple, practical steps you can take to reduce risks and use the internet more securely.

Protect your login information

Treat your Raisin credentials like the keys to your home. Never share them, not even with friends or family.

Do:

  • Use a unique, strong password for your Raisin account.
  • Secure the email account linked to your Raisin profile, and apply the same level of protection to all factors connected to your Raisin account (such as your mobile phone).
  • Keep your linked devices secure with screen locks and updated software

Never:

  • Reuse your Raisin password for other services
  • Share login or device access with anyone

Secure your devices

Your smartphone, laptop, and tablet give access to your money.

  • Keep your operating system and apps up to date
  • Use antivirus and anti-malware software
  • Never click unknown links or download suspicious files
  • Lock your devices with a strong passcode or biometric security
  • Encrypt your hard drive

If your phone is ever lost or stolen:

  • Immediately contact our support team to request that access to your Raisin account is blocked
  • Notify us immediately to assess risks and reset access via our official support channels

Keep your contact information up to date

Your email and phone number are important tools to help us keep your account secure. If they change, update them in your Raisin profile as soon as possible, especially if:

  • You changed your phone or number
  • You switched email providers or email address
  • You have a new Nominated Account
  • You changed your address

All interest rates displayed are Annual Equivalent Rates (AER), unless otherwise explicitly indicated. The AER illustrates what the interest rate would be if interest was paid and compounded once a year. This allows individuals to compare more easily what return they can expect from their savings over time. Raisin Bank, trading as Raisin, is authorised/licensed or registered by BaFin (Bundesanstalt für Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht) in Germany and is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland for conduct of business rules.
